What it does
Advanced Orthomolecular Research (AOR) is a Calgary-based Canadian supplement company founded in 1992, recognized for evidence-graded formulation and rigorous third-party testing. Ortho•Mind is their cognitive flagship — open formula, every dose disclosed, and licensed by Health Canada as a Natural Health Product (NHP). How it works
At the licensed 6 capsules a day: Bacopa monnieri 300mg supports memory consolidation over 8-12 weeks, and citicoline (about 500mg; AOR uses the Xerenoos brand) supports phospholipid and neurotransmitter synthesis. AOR says R-lipoic acid and acetyl-L-carnitine "work synergistically to support the function of mitochondria"; the 1,500mg of acetyl-L-carnitine meets our reference dose; we have no reference dose on file for R-lipoic acid (100mg). Panax ginseng (100mg of a 30:1 extract) is below the 200-400mg used in trials. Arginine pyroglutamate (1,500mg) has limited human data.
What to expect
Weeks 4-12: cumulative Bacopa + citicoline memory and attention effects; none of the seven ingredients is a stimulant, so do not expect an acute caffeine-style lift. The licensed dose is 2 capsules three times daily without food (6 capsules a day), so a 180-capsule bottle lasts 30 days. The label information on aor.ca says to consult a health care practitioner for use beyond 2 months.
