Neutonic Productivity Drink is worth a look.
A zero-sugar nootropic energy drink in a can from UK brand Neutonic. Each 355ml can gives 120mg natural caffeine, 500mg citicoline (as Cognizin®), 400mg L-theanine, 400mg rhodiola extract and 200mg Panax ginseng extract, plus eight B vitamins. Caffeine, citicoline and L-theanine meet our reference doses; the rhodiola extract states no standardisation, and we have no reference dose on file for ginseng. Canadian shoppers are served neutonic.com's US store, which with Canada selected sells a 12-can pack for $52.00 in Canadian dollars, one-time, through its own cart (checked 2026-10-19).
What it does
Neutonic Productivity Drink is a carbonated, ready-to-drink can from Neutonic, a UK brand whose range also includes caffeine-free Brain Capsules. One can is one serving ('Each can contains one serving'), and the vendor's recommended serving is one can a day. Canadian shoppers are served neutonic.com's US store (/en-us/), which sells the US edition in packs of 12 x 355ml cans in one flavour (Tropical Ice, Orange Sunrise, Strawberry Lemonade, Wild Citrus or Blue Raspberry) or as a mixed-flavour pack. Besides the actives, the US ingredient list names carbonated water, citric acid, natural flavours, trisodium citrate, the sweeteners sucralose and acesulfame potassium, and potassium sorbate as a preservative; the vitamin blend lists thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, folate (as calcium 5-methyltetrahydrofolate), vitamin B12 (as methylcobalamin), biotin and pantothenic acid, which the vendor's panel gives as 100% of the reference intake (RI). The vendor says the drink is suitable for vegetarians and vegans. We found no Natural Product Number (NPN) for Neutonic as a brand name or licence holder in Health Canada's Licensed Natural Health Products Database (LNHPD) (full register export searched, 2026-10-19); a licence can be held under another name, so look for an eight-digit NPN on the label.
How it works
Caffeine (120mg) blocks adenosine receptors; at low-to-moderate doses it consistently improves alertness, vigilance, attention and reaction time, with less consistent effects on memory (McLellan 2016, a narrative review). L-theanine (400mg, twice the top of our 100-200mg reference range) is an amino acid from green tea: in an 11-study meta-analysis, caffeine plus L-theanine had moderate effects versus placebo on alertness and attention-switching accuracy (Camfield 2014), but Foxe 2012 found no added benefit over either compound alone, and in a controlled trial (Rogers 2008, PubMed 17891480) L-theanine did not significantly reduce caffeine jitteriness. Citicoline (500mg, as Cognizin®) is a precursor to acetylcholine and phosphatidylcholine; its memory evidence comes from older adults with inefficient memory at 1,000-2,000mg a day (Spiers 1996), and a Cochrane review found no evidence of an attention benefit in older adults with chronic cerebral disorders. Rhodiola is an adaptogen: small trials of the SHR-5 extract found less mental fatigue, but a 2012 systematic review rated every included study at high or unclear risk of bias, and the product page does not say which extract or standardisation is used. We have no reference dose on file for Panax ginseng. Neutonic Productivity Drink itself has not been tested in a published trial; the vendor's claims rest on ingredient-level research.
What to expect
Caffeine's alerting effect typically starts within 15-45 minutes, the onset on our caffeine page; the vendor suggests a can before 'any high demand session', from a morning start to training. Each can has 120mg caffeine and the vendor recommends one can a day, advising drinkers to be mindful of their total caffeine intake, so count it toward your daily total if you also drink coffee. Citicoline's memory effects in trials were measured after 2-3 months, so a single can should not be expected to change memory. With Canada selected, neutonic.com's US product page prices a 12-can pack at $52.00 one-time or $44.20 a delivery on a subscription (Subscribe & Save 15%, delivered every 4, 6, 8 or 12 weeks), in Canadian dollars, checked 2026-10-19; the store converts these prices itself, so they can change from day to day. Its US shipping page has no Canada-specific terms and says 'Final shipping fees are calculated at checkout based on weight and location' (neutonic.com/en-us/pages/shipping-returns, checked 2026-10-19).

Ingredient quality
Number and quality of evidence-graded ingredients. Trademarked extracts and standardized actives raise this score.
Dosing vs. clinical evidence
The share of ingredients with a reference dose on our ingredient pages whose label-stated daily amount meets that page's minimum. Amounts the label hides (blend shares) or states on a different basis count as not met; ingredients with no reference page are listed but not scored.
Formula transparency
Full disclosure of every ingredient at its exact dose. Proprietary blends are scored as opaque.
Value for money
Cost per month relative to per-serving clinical doses delivered. Cheaper products with underdoses score lower.
